Mamiche keeps the neighborhood moving

Mamiche

Every morning before Paris wakes up, Victoria and Cécile are already at it, running Mamiche their own way. A look at the bakery that turned a neighborhood counter into an institution, worn in with the Palladium Pampa Oxford.

6am, rue du Château d'Eau. The oven is on, flour is flying. The city is still asleep, but Victoria and Cécile have already started their day. For almost ten years now they've been running Mamiche, a cult address in the 10th arrondissement, now with a second shop in the 19th and a catering business. Their success owes nothing to chance or trends. It comes down to one simple idea, build rather than follow, repeated without fail for a decade.

A bakery unlike any other

They could have settled for opening just another bakery. Victoria and Cécile chose to build something else entirely. Without ever trying to revolutionize their trade, they reinvented it on their own terms: more generosity, more closeness, higher standards, in every product and every exchange at the counter.

That's why people don't come to Mamiche just for the bread. They come for how it feels to walk through the door.

What drives them isn't chasing trends or recognition. It's a stubborn conviction that things are worth doing well, even when no one's watching. "We're constantly on the move. I don't think we could handle a job where you sit behind a desk all day," says Cécile. That energy runs through every shop, in the way they never fake it.

Mamiche

A mark left on the city

They each experience Paris in their own way, but always with the same intensity. Victoria was born here, and walks between the shops to take in the city: "It's a constant source of inspiration." Cécile found Paris a shock at first, dense and alive, and still crosses it by bike, at every hour. Their home turf hasn't changed: rue du Château d'Eau, right by the canal, where they still run into customers they've known since Mamiche's earliest days.

That might be Mamiche's real signature. Not trying to stand out, but patiently weaving connections that last. Turning a neighborhood counter into a place people come back to because they feel expected. On their own scale, Victoria and Cécile have changed the way an entire neighborhood lives and gathers.

Adventure starts with a detour

You don't need to go far to explore. With their kids, any walk turns into an adventure, a stick or an unfamiliar street is enough. Then there's travel, visiting bakeries and cafés to taste and get inspired.

At Mamiche, adventure isn't measured in miles. It lives in a curiosity they refuse to let go of, even after ten years, even when they could simply coast on what they've already built.

Mamiche

From the bakery floor to the street

"Comfortable shoes, obviously, but sturdy too," that's the first requirement of a trade lived on your feet, always moving. In that kind of day, the Pampa Oxford has found its place almost naturally. Worn under an apron in the morning, with jeans in the evening, never out of place.

Built to take on flour and sugar without flinching, to grip Parisian cobblestones on a rainy day, and to stay light underfoot after a full day on your feet.

Mamiche Bakery

An adventure you live, not one you measure

At Palladium, we believe adventure isn't just measured in miles covered. It also lives in the courage to follow your own path and to help shape the city in your own way. Victoria and Cécile keep going, every morning, before Paris wakes up. That's the everyday adventure Palladium Insiders is here to tell.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Palladium's iconic models?

Palladium’s most iconic model is undoubtedly the Pampa Hi, launched in 1947. Originally designed to equip soldiers of the French Foreign Legion, this sturdy and versatile boot quickly became an urban staple and a symbol of exploration. Even today, it remains the brand’s most recognizable silhouette.

Alongside it, models like the Pallabase and modern variations of the Pampa (Oxford, Zip, Mary-Jane, Baggy) embody the Palladium spirit: combining functionality, timeless style, and a sense of adventure.

How to care for your Pampa Oxford?

We strongly advise against machine-washing your shoes, regardless of the material, or putting them in the dryer, as this could cause discoloration, material damage, or affect the bond between the sole and the upper.

Do not use bleach or any bleach-based products to clean your shoes.

Discover our care products for each material.
